朗金讲座60年(Rankine Lecture 1961-2022)

1 引言

朗金讲座(Rankine Lecture)是岩土工程领域最早设立的著名邀请讲座,由英国岩土工程协会[British Geotechnical Association (BGA)]举办。该讲座为了纪念格拉斯哥大学(Glasgow University)土木工程教授WJM Rankine对土力学和岩土工程作出的重大贡献---特别是挡土墙的土压力理论。朗金讲座设立于1961年,比太沙基讲座的设立早两年。太沙基讲座的部分学者也是朗金讲座的邀请者,根据统计共有14位,他们是:

自从1961年讲座设立以来,至今年为止,总共经历了62年,2020年和2021年由于新冠疫情没有举行朗金讲座,因此2022年是朗金讲座的60周年。

第60届朗金讲座将于2022年3月16日在伦敦帝国学院(Imperial College London)举行,

由牛津大学(University of Oxford)工程科学系的访问教授Stephan Jefferis主讲。他的演讲题目是:The Unusual And The Unexpected In Geotechnical Engineering: Observation – Analogy – Experiment (岩土工程中的不寻常和意外: 观察-类比-实验)
